Zamas are the worst to find .Those rascals have so many models and if each and every number is not the exact match they will not work.Drives me nutz.

Usually  I just buy the basic kits with only the diaphragms and gaskets. Here of late I've noticed a good many newer kits have the check valve assemblies made of a mylar type material rather than the old buna-n type paper or cloth .I assume this type has been upgraded to be more robust  against ethanol deteriation.

I've noticed the Mylar pump check valves/pump diaphragms also.

Within some circles it is considered that the Mylar pump diaphragms do not pump fuel as well as the Kevlar brownish woven diaphragms.

So if you have both in the kit - use the Kevlar?

The Stens kits tended to have both types?

Looked and can't find it again but I think I remember reading the mylar diaphragms go in carb bodies that are machined and the other diaphragms go in carb bodies that are not machined flat. something about sealing quality on the different surfaces.

The pump diaphragm will get a gasket between it and the carb body so there shouldn't be a worry of sealing.  Now the check valve (flapper) goes directly against the carb body which will always be machined flat.

It looks like they have great deals on fuel filters as well.
