When you say the gasket under the silver  do you mean the circular gasket that fits under the plate that has the hinge for the needle valve?
Yes, I see the difference,  which one in your pictures did use? Which one in your picture came in your carburetor?
So recently I watched a youtube where the guy uses a piece of tubing pressed over the check valve to test it. He blew on it, no obstruction, when he sucks on it no air will pass. I did the same test to mine and air passes in both directions, it failed. When cleaning the carb I had stripped it and  put it into some carb cleaner to soak. I didn't realize that the check valve has a small plastic disc and it was likely damaged by the solvent. So before I put the new kit in, I ordered a check valve, should be here today. Any trick in getting the old  one out?
