So I guess I found A problem, not getting fuel in the line. The jbweld seems to work fine in sealing the plastic fitting. Their product descriptions say it's not affected by gasoline., don't know about vibration, but I'll worry about that if I ever get this thing running.  So now I have gas in the line, but the engine still won't start or run.    Going to wait until I get the OEM Walbro kit before I tackle it again.  Cut4fun, I took that plastic part off initially thinking about eliminating it, but the nipple that was left seemed too small. Looked like the nipple is pressed into the carb body. How did you replace that?   Not giving up on this saw, last time I used it was 2002 when our forested property in the Sierras was burned out by a forest fire, no more need to cut wood. Trying to do some resurrection now. Thanks for the help guys, I'll let you know how it goes.

Pull old out and press new in.  Can use red loctite if you want. I been using orange now in place of red myself.

Thanks for the info Cut4fun. I ordered the Tillotson. Please keep me in mind if another carb pops up in your parts pile.

I was rebuilding one of these carbs today and took pics for ya.

Will post them later.

This one had a metal inlet already.

Pics.

Pay attention to fines plugging that tiny hole in silver plate.

Comparing your kit to one I just did.  I see a difference on that gasket under silver piece.

When you say the gasket under the silver  do you mean the circular gasket that fits under the plate that has the hinge for the needle valve?
Yes, I see the difference,  which one in your pictures did use? Which one in your picture came in your carburetor?
So recently I watched a youtube where the guy uses a piece of tubing pressed over the check valve to test it. He blew on it, no obstruction, when he sucks on it no air will pass. I did the same test to mine and air passes in both directions, it failed. When cleaning the carb I had stripped it and  put it into some carb cleaner to soak. I didn't realize that the check valve has a small plastic disc and it was likely damaged by the solvent. So before I put the new kit in, I ordered a check valve, should be here today. Any trick in getting the old  one out?

These are the two round gaskets that came with the new kit.
