The 357 has 3/8 7T and a stihl 18" RS chain back on it.  I have a piece of the cant left over and thinking about putting 3 cuts on video with it.
The chain looks pretty new with little use. Maybe not even touched up from looking at it.

Just for chits to see.

That 18" chain was never used except by you if you used it.  If I did use it - it was when I was with you. I haven't run the saw since that winter day we ran it together.

I just ran it. Overlook the 1st cut when it was cold and I stuck it in the cut  ::) :P.  Did 4 more cuts after that. See what the 2 fastest times  are?  Stock 3/8 Stihl RS stock chain looks new with little use. 7T rim.

Didnt seem all that fast to me.  Cant has been on the stand and rained on a bit since testing. Who knows will see soon.

I just timed the 4 good cuts with 3/8. You going to be surprised by 325 chains with the little 7 gear.

How about that, looks to me like the .325" was faster. Do you think the 2" longer bar playing a factor?

Every test I have ever ran was 3/8 faster in past. All were ran same day in same wood.   It wont change my mind at all.

This was same wood but what 2 weeks later setting out. The 18" 3/8 chain didnt feel right to me either as in self feeding etc.  Could be one of those off RS chain out of the box.
The last time I ran this saw in testing if I recall right, I ran my 16" and 3/8 on it when I tested in 12" against ported and stock 346's etc.

I don't remember ever running that 18" bar? Feel free to run it through your USG if you want to?
