Where is the best place to purchase this RS chain ?

Guy I bought from on ebay sold out of the 66.

Here is another place for a few bucks more. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OEM-Oilomatic-Stihl-Rapid-Super-Saw-Chain-Part-23RS-66-/400811860071

Can your setup run a 67?
I found an old lpx with some missing cutters in .325 .050 67.
Might be able to send that one.

050?

1st choice would be break and make 66DL.

2nd choice send it if 67dl  and if to long and cant adjust it out,  I can break it?

Ok, I got a work chain finished.  I used an Oregon LPX converted to square.  I managed to grab one of the chisel file Granberg G-107 jigs from ebay about a year ago, so that is what I used to do the conversion.  I tried to get a usable picture of one of the teeth, but didn't have much luck.

The part I like a little bit is the proportional raker gauge I made using a 3-D printer.  It places the raker height on a 6.5 degree slope down from the working corner point of the top plate.  Reading this thread, a lot of people run their square rakers fairly high, so this might not be the correct number for this chain.  This is exactly the second square chain I have made, so it's not like I really know what I'm doing....

Anyway, most of the time I use Oregon 21BPX or Carlton semichisel to clear brush around my property.  The 6.5 degree raker gauge works well for that application.

Welcome to CRS and Thanks for joining in CBO.

That has to be one of the most technical raker gauges I am seen.

Always nice having new folks join in and see and hear what their thinking on chains.

Other info:

So far there is 2 new joining in.  But we have lost at least 5 this round that dont have the time to enter.

So it does seem to be better timing in middle of winter for folks like rd 1 was.  How do you all think on this?

Though I'm retired and it makes no difference for me, I once was a working family man and remember how precious your time can be.

I agree

Thanks.  The raker gauge idea came to me after I spent too much time fiddling around with angle finders and calipers.

The 6 degree raker slant is something Madsens talks about in their online sharpening guide.
