I just called the stihl dealer for PS 25' $150 cash price  :o  I can get 25' online for $114 to my door. If anyone wants me to order it and make loops plus shipping. Basically .30 cent a drive link, baileys wants .37 DL plus shipping.

Done ChainBuildOff http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2944

No email for this name. Just for PMing addresses etc for this build off so they dont get lost in the shuffle.

Use above to PM for mailing address for shipping chains.

I guess we can go with Dec 17th deadline for chains to be on hand to be tested at later date.  Sound good?

Checking username for chain build off address use only.    Use this to request address and return address etc.

Also maybe include and note with chains work race and return address etc. Also stuff like how you know how chain likes fed. Light hand, heavy hand, self feeding type it. I know it matters. ;)

Sometimes this stuff can be caught by me on 1st cut as I see how chain acts. But if we only do 2 cuts for testing that 1 could be good to know before hand.

I will try to check this username once a day for PM's.

My 25cc echo pulled stock PS chain just fine with 6.

I do need to check and see if the 39cc will pull it ok with 3/8 7. I know it pulled 325 with 7 fine. But I need to know.

I just want this to be about the chain. Not some over powered ported saw slinging the little stuff at crazy speeds. Thats why I liked testing chains on stock saws to get the real pic of them cutting.

This is gonna be quite the challenge. That PS is hungry stuff. To the point of gagging on it's own feed!

I think I may go check a stock PS in a cherry I have on hand and then bury in some maple to see if the 39cc can pull with 3/8 7.

See ya later to report back.

You have to remember ps3 ps was made for a 35cc stihl 201T ;)

The 39cc echo 3900 pulled the 3/8 7 with no problems with stock PS.

You know what your building chain for so build accordingly.

People shouldnt  expect to just cut  60dl  race chain and send it in and expect it to be the fastest.  Those were built with 50cc woods ported saws in mind. ;)
