I wish I hadnt sold my left over square files now. There was 2 in there that most folks dont like but I have good results with. Was just wondering IF it would fit in there to square a chain.  Who would have thunk.

But I keep seeing all this bragging on square filed PS PS3 and I thought well lets just see who owns the roost for a saw size  the chain was intended for.     ;) ;D  Time to put up.  :P

What brand of file ?

That 4 sided Vallorbe that local stihl dealer sold before atop sold them with their kits. You good filers hate them but I got pretty decent with them.

I wasnt paying attention to the chain in video. I was just listening to that little motor.

We used to race 40cc under rear handle and 40cc under top handle classes too.  I'd gave anything for this PS PS3 stuff back then. Trying to mod semi was a real treat.  :P

Those are chisel bit files.
Basically = to half of a double bevel.
Call Treemonkey.. I think his shop sells em'.
I know he uses them.

Those chisel bit files break the corners off when they get into the drivers on PS, and you loose teeth when you hit that bumper on PS3 when filing steep angles.

6 sided triangular files are too big and you will wear out either one on the drivers if you go anything more than 1/2 way back on the tooth

I am using sandpaper on mine for this race !!

Who filed the chain in the Echo vid?  Looks like there's only one or two cutters doing the work judging by the wavy grain in the face of the cut!!   Decoy chain so we underestimate the competition?  Hahahahaha.

Sandbaggin, subterfuge, distraction, disruption, even deflection are all good in the name of chain ................ BEFORE the race.

We all been schooled by the best at it:

Is it too early for trash talk?
 ;)

That one or two cutter chain sure did eat up that hickory though ................. maybe I should make one of mine double full skip  ;)

fixed  ;)

Thanks for the heads up.  Round it is.  Since I dont have nothing to prove anymore anyway.   :P

Those diamond coated square files are pretty and produce a nice finish but they dont make the chain any faster.  ;) :D ;) :D

Now to see what you guys into all this filing now days can produce.   ;D

Good Luck all. Bragging rights for a year or next chain build are at hand.    ;D

Funny pic!

Lucked out found a fairly sharp loop of PS that's been floating around in my truck bed for the last year or so... I'll box it up and get it shipped.  Was worried the chain sharpening business might cut into my beer drinking time. Whew!!!

I'm going stock angles of RSL 45 and 45. Nothing gonna touch those if you got a dual port and HD 2 on that echo
