thirteen bucks for the chain.... 1 hour to set up jig for holding chain in a small radius, 1 hour to trim the safety links, 30 minutes to lighten chain in rivet area, about 20 minutes to square and narrow teeth, another 20 to cut/grind the backside of the tooth.  found some files that fit in to put an edge on the teeth, but saved this for last, and remains undone.

......not sure what its supposed to look like.  y'all are secretive and stuff.

if i only could have remembered where i put the hardened valve spring shims.... lol.

No secrets here, need to be able to file before you have secrets  :D . I just dont want to say anything IF someone is doing what I was told. I highly doubt anyone is though. ;)

I cant find the small 3ci chain I was looking for. Completely polished smoothed down.

Pics I grabbed straight off the internet so take them for what they are worth.  NOT LP chain.

thanks for the photos cut4.

I think this is the 3ci chain while Cale was working on it still. This one won the 3ci build off.

Per Cale bloodontheice Took a couple hours this evening to start work on my chain
As you can see it started off as regular LGX Oregon chain, was
going use the Stihl, but this took alot less work.

This was all done with one of those goofy files, round files and a regular Oregon chain grinder

I have half of the cutters filed, tunneled and the backs of the teeth cut off, the rakers and chassis will need
some more cleaning up, and the teeth will need to be back dressed.

I will nickname my chains just like in the 3 cube build. POS #1 and POS #2. Just hope I dont have to add bloody to any of them like I did to bloody pos #1.  ::)

That was the only chain I thought would have been slower then stock in my life. I was betting on it. But it wasnt. POS chain for sure. Heck wasnt even last.

I will reserve this for me in the work chain class.  ;D

Dang just noticed there was 1 chain there that was slower then stock. Never caught that before.

Steve = We made 3 cuts with a stock chain and the times was 3.53 291 312 with a average of 3.18
a 2.60 2.41 2.40=2.47
b 2.50 2.69 2.40=2.53
c 3.00 2.76 2.65=2.80    POS #1 I thought would have been slower then stock. That chain was fubarred.
d2.28 2.35 2.25=2.29      POS #2

e 2.56 2.34 2.50=2.46
f 3.50 3.15 3.15=3.26
g2.38 2.31 2.44=2.37
h 2.18 2.25 2.28=2.23

I ran 3 saws with my other camera to see if it would be easier to do videos and had sound.

12" wide 12.5" high ash log. After seeing the 6700 3800 going through the log it makes me impressed with the echo 39cc 45cc with the ps ps3 chain in same wood yesterday.

Oh stock 415  ;). Man I wish I could have compared to that stock solo 665.
