Something I noticed. Work chains top 3 are all from Ohio and we all know each other.

Top 5

Shaun  guessing hand filed with those things that holds chains? Something like that homelite guy makes?

Kevin I filed my chain on the  bar on the chainsaw with bar in vice. Like I do every hand filed chain for builds.

Jim uses a swing arm

CG Kimmons   I dont know the state or how?

ch74 Fla   ?

Any other filers want to share info?  I can take a pic of mine later.

Chain tight. Brake on. Big screwdriver in lower bar between it and chain.

What about the race chain filers.  Any thing to share how you made your chains.

I use a vise made from some angle iron I had here.    I square ground my chain first and then went back and hand filed it to improve the angles.

Work Chain

I Square ground the new PS3 on a Silvey Swing Arm Grinder. I used one of (Homelite) Mike's chain holder jig's to adjust the rakers. There was absolutely nothing done to the chain other than what would be done before you use it out in the woods to cut firewood. The teeth were not sharpened way back to just leave a minimal tooth dimension. They were only cut back enough to make them square. If I had cut the teeth way back to where there was a greater distance between the the raker and the cutting edge of the tooth, I could have gotten a sharper angle underneath the top plate.

I used a vise to hold each tooth and free handed gullets and a orgen file guide for tooth and hook filling. 5/32 file on everything.

On your race one. Tunneling under cutter. Did you use the 1/8" file or did you find a file smaller or used something else.  I know I used 1/8" on full size.
