You mean the drive link tabs get dings when the chain jumps off the bar?

I bought a used saw with the chain dinged up. It took me a couple hours to file the dings off. I had to find out why the chain jumped in the first place though before I ran it.

I just did a used chain that was dinged up pretty bad on more then a  few drivers. I took the generic foreom or even use a dremel with grinder stone. Cleaned right up and back out there.   Bet it didnt take me 5-10 mins.

Quicker and easier then using a hand file for me. Which I have used in the past.

Hang the old chain on a nail in the garage. Some day you will gain the knowledge and confidence to repair it.

Figure out how your chain jumped off in the first place?

The chain could have just been loose?

When the chain hangs slack below the bar with the the drivers showing, it will jump the bar if twisted slightly.
