Chain grinders

I was wondering if anyone has experience with an OR 410-120 grinder? I am looking to grind chains for my own (10) saws and the few customers bring in. Should I go up to a bigger/better model? Thanks for ANY input.

The 410-120 grinder should be very adequate for non professional use. It is full size, full featured, and will last you the rest of your life, however, it is made in China and the fit/finish quality is not as good as the Italian made 520-120. The standard professional one for dealer use would be the 520-120

I think that the motor is much smaller on the 410 grinder than the 520 grinder. It can be confusing, because sometimes there are errors in the printed specifications.

The 520 replaces the 511AX, which replaced the 511A.  IMO, the 511 series is the standard/reference grinder, against which other grinders are compared (e.g., 'it is smaller than the 511', or 'it is a clone/copy of a 511', etc.).  If you plan to use it on a regular basis, and keep it for a while, I would encourage you to look for one of those, or some close-out pricing on the 511AX grinders.  Chart of the current Oregon grinders attached.
