Thanks Kevin. My dad is wanting a little more reach.

I am just surprised about the Cannon bar being lighter. This is good to know.  I would have bet all day against it not knowing.

Cannon steel is good and different grades of steel weigh a little bit different.

@Gatekeeper  just in case you missed westcoasters post.

K095 mount 16" Oregon prolite and Cannon

westcoaster = Both 3/8's .058 16". Not an 18" but i'm sure the results would be similar. a 346 550 balances perfect with a 16" 18" cannon and i feel there is no need to go lighter.

I just weighted a Sugihara "Superlight" laminate in 16" (66dl) .325 .058 K095 with a 10t nose. It came out at 690 grams = 1.52 lbs = 1 pound 8.3 oz.

It isn't a surprice to me that the Oregon ProLite weights as much as some RSN bars, as those are heavy for laminated bars.

I'm not claiming my scale is accurate, it is an old mechanical postal scale.  :D

My scale just showed 2 pounds 0.4 oz on a similar (.058 though) Tsumura branded bar - so I guess it isn't that far off.

They were using them before. Carlton did some as well but never the lightweight

I was only talking about them being in the lightweights.

3 threads on the other laser bars.

True. I guess any one can get them now in their brand since a few are selling them over here instead of just Tilton
