280RNDD025 won't fit
« on: February 08, 2014, 09:21:10 pm »
I have a small bar that use on my 064(280RNDD025)...it fits just fine.
Tried letting my new 056AVEQ try it on...it does not fit.

What the little I can find everywhere around the 'net, it should.....shouldn't it?  Any ideas....

It is supposed to fit?

Measure your bar studs? They may have been changed to the big Stihl?

It was cold and I must admit....my brain might not have been firing too well after that really awesome steak dinner.  So I'll have to measure the studs when the sun comes up.  At least my thinking seems to have been correct....it should have just slid right on and tightened down just fine.

Wouldn't this saw have the 'bigger' studs anyway?  Thought there was only two sizes....

Whew, that makes three of us that are thinking along the same lines.  I know for a fact that it fits fine on my 064....it's a 'spare' for those 'just-in-case' moments.

Well here's a 'tickler'....

I took the bar off my 064(36" Oregon PowerMatch), and it fits just fine on the 056.  Took the 28" and put it on the 064, and it fits just fine too.  Figured I had one of those 'moments'....reversed everything and the 28 does not fit on the 056.....

I need to get a few more bars this week from Pinnacle Arborist Supply in Little Rock anyway.  I'll just get my Dremel out and ID the 28" bar for the 064(since it fits fine), and find something for the 'new kid'!  Need some more loops too!!

Pinnacle had everything I needed in stock!
They have moved to a new spot just down the road from where they use to be. Little big showroom and a little more storage in the back. It is nice to have a place close by!

Picked up a 24" Oregon and two loops. Bolted right up!
