Believe it or not . .  . the biggest concentration seems to be to get the device clamped on at an acceptable height and for it to stay there without cocking up on the front?
That seems to be the only real issue I have with my granberg.

It seems like this would help if you were willing to modify your bars

You need more than a rubber band in the front?

Jim have you ever used the newer Granberg to compare to your Oregon's? I read alot of folk complain about Oregon being plasticy now?
Oregon sells alot of stuff that is "homeowner grade".
Stay away from the homeowner Oregon and the TimberTuff clone of it. It sounds strange, but the plastic holder on the top binds so badly on the guide rod that it distorts and you never get the same pass twice. And this was the only reason I tried one of these was for consistency!

I bought an older, metal Oregon made in Italy on eBay. Haven't gotten it yet to try it out. Should be like the Granberg I had 30 yrs. ago.

Yes on NOS, I have three of the red Oregons and none of the black ones.
