Yes. And the V part is a file too. not smooth like a flat raker file. There is a video of a member here showing how its done at the beginning of this thread.

The top of the v is what is filing the working corner. The vallorbe files only have half the v. The work ok but are very flimsy compared to normal double bevels.

This is just being thrown out there for a beginner that is having troubles holding file right. I dont agree with the operator slowness in the change overs in video, but the chains I have tested in past did cut lot better then round or stock square.

I know most of you wouldnt use something like this or have had mixed results with your testing. But I do know first hand not all of us hold the file on the guide the same. Seen this when woodheater was over and we were comparing. I also had 3 sets of rollers at different file hights where he only had 1 set.

A beginner might be able to learn with this. I cant hand file square for crap. But I have made decent work chain.  woodheater = Mark has been using the square beveled file on his guide with good results.  The chain he turned out here at the house was good enough I would have used it for gtg race chain.

No it is not racing cut as listed. It might be to them over there, but we know better over here.

Thats nice. And real aggressive. Your file is hitting the link behind the cutter link. :o Thats my next steps. tuneling under the cutter and clipping the back.

That's the stuff I look at too, to know if I'm getting the angle I want. I have no idea what that angle is, but I know where I want the file to hit. The cutter on the left is kinda fuzzy but it shows the outside side plate angle I shoot for.

Trout that looks good , you must have good patience or practiced a lot. What cubic inch do you run that on? The top plate underneath is that the angle you like or result to have the side plate? Thanks for the photo. Ive played with a lot of chain just dont know how to do the upload thing.  Jody
