The top picture looks like you got a little bit below the corner.   


it may have ,on a work chain you will not notice that small defect ,I usualy do about 3-4 short swipes and run it ,if my teeth start getting different shapes ,the silvey straitens them out ,another tip for beginners file outside in ,and don't worry about nicking the straps ,I get good angles hitting the straps ,and have not broke a chain yet
