John Deere CS40 Bar Replacement
« on: April 10, 2018, 01:12:47 pm »
Anybody know what I can replace the stock bar with that annoying tip brush thing on the end., Can't use the tip of the bar to cut things, who ever came up with this design had never used a saw in the field.

It is a 14 inch bar.

I want to replace it with a non tip guard bar in 14 or 16 inch.

I never seen a chainsaw that has that pain in the ass tip thing on, I get into brush and prickers and they get stuck in the tip guard and it throws the chain, what a inept design if I ever did see one.

Otherwise it is a very nice saw, lots of pomwer and fairly smooth to run.

Homelite came up with it as one of the first companies to try to reduce kickback injuries. Their saws have come with that feature for decades and have probably prevented thousands of injures to people that had no business running a chainsaw.  My loaner saw has one on it for piece of mind.
We just drag them down..... Until they're just like us !!!  BNL
