For @fisaw  Did you see the carbed type II NE 261 pics in thread I told you about?

fisaw pics switched.  Seemed like they loaded quicker. Is that what you were fixing?

Took me more than a year to get one!  About 5 ounces lighter than the OEM 20" laminated bar.
Slightly longer mounting slot, and angled oil holes.  Has a dull, almost rough finish.

Oregon is on to something there with that Speed Cut bar and 95TXL chain. Looks like a big improvement over the old 95VPX. Almost looks like a high tooth. 325 :D

Oregon also claims to have improved the fit of their bar nose sprocket too.

Did some garage research on the 20" SpeedCut bar today, comparing it to a same length Husqvarna, OEM, narrow kerf bar, and a slightly shorter one.

The weight difference is definitely there:
- (? unbranded) 16" nominal length: 21 ounces total weight
- Oregon SpeedCut 20" nominal length: 23.5 ounces
- Husqvarna branded, 20" nominal length; 28.6 ounces
The 20: SpeedCut bar weighs little more than the 16" conventional, laminated, NK bar.

But when I hung the saw to balance freely, the difference between the SpeedCut bar and the OEM bar was minimal (relative angles read off of gravity style protractor attached to the saw hand guard):
- Power Head Only (PHO) - 14°
- Power Head with 16" conventional, NK bar - 11°
- Power Head with 20" SpeedCut NK bar - 3°
- PowerHead with 20" OEM, NK bar - 0°

When I measured relative stiffness, there was a noticable difference.  Flexibility is a key concern than I have for NK bars, especially when they get longer.  I don't like sloppy cuts.

I clamped the bars to a sturdy table, attached 15 pound weights to mimic a large power head, and measured the relative deflection between the 2 bars:

The SpeedCut bar flexed only about 1-5/8 inches: the conventional NK bar was closer to 1-7/8 inches. About a 1/4 inch difference. So this SpeedCut bar does appear to be lighter and stiffer. The stiffness is likely to be more noticable with narrow kerf chain users. The reduced weight will probably be more of a factor with longer length bars used with larger pitch chain.
