Laser Chain + Files

Anyone have any feedback on Laser chain or files?

EHP Ed likes the Laser files better then Save Edge.

Kevin, I don't think you heard a raving review about the chain, at least if its the same stuff as up here, but the files are supposedly cutting as good but lasting longer then a safe edge.
My last batch of of ten boxes or so save edge files aren't as good as they were a year ago.Still better than anything else I can find.
I have 2 boxes of laser files in the mail as we speak.

I saw report on AS a with a couple of jeweler types discussing harder than steel files that would last "forever" and they mentioned industrial ruby that you could get a 7/32 for about 75 dollars. At 20 bucks a box for files, 75 dollar file would make sense if I didn't loose it.
I know the high end chain filers are using different ceramics for finishes but they may be too fine for every day use.

Has anybody here experimented with non steel or HSS and harder files, I am looking for that magic bullet.

Pretend I was only answering to your first sentence...

"Anyone have any feedback on Laser chain or files?"

Hows your reading on Jan 2, a little better?

As to who makes it,If I were to guess it's Carleton/Woodsman, files like it anyways.

The last Laser chain I used was on my 372 when I bought it new about 5-6 yrs ago. It was  a re-badged Oregon 73 LGX. For some reason the Husky distributer sent my dealer the saw with the Laser sawchain, have since been supplying Husqvarna rebadged Oregon LGX

The Laser chain seemed to hold a better edge then my usual Oregon LGX ,it seemed at the time.
Making a living with a saw since age 16.

First thing I noticed about the 7/32 Laser file today. Very fine spacing (dont know if thats the right wording).  Not what I am used to seeing. Hopefully they work as good as I have gotten used to with my others.

Just dont look like they will take much off in a pass. But this could be good for just touch ups and not for straightening bad cutter up quick.
