Old Peerles saw Chain Grinder Info

Picked this beast up at a local auction last weekend.(it weighs over 50 lbs) After tearing it completely down and cleaning, lubricating, repainting I got it back together and think it is a nice grinder. It is all metal, no plastic except for the three knobs. The only problem is the start up capacitor is not working. The motor will work if you give it a boost by turning the wheel after turning it on. I'm sure any electric supply shop can get a new capacitor. I was wondering if anybody has one  of these grinders or used one. I would like to find an owners manual, but after searching I'm not finding much info on this grinder. I do think it's probably late 50's or 60's made machine.

I live some ten miles from where those were made but the company went out of business more than 20 yrs ago. Was all through the place some 40 years ago and knew a lot of people that worked there.

It's one hell for stout chain grinder. It weighs over 50 lbs. I have an old Foley grinder  that I thought was well built but this this one is built much stronger with many more adjustment options. The only thing I don't care for is it takes a 6" wheel with a 3/4" arbor and they are not to common and the ones I have found are not cheap. I may be able to use an Oregon wheel with a arbor bushing to 3/4", but I'm not sure what size the Oregon arbor sizes are on their wheels. I was thinking bigger than 3/4"

Oregon 510/511 grinders use . . .

5 3/4" X 3/16" X 7/8"

Also 1/8", 1/4", & 5/16" widths

I have a Oregon and those Chinese wheels about drove me nuts with the hole being not exactly on size and the hole was off center and the wheel wobbled etc.

You could dress them round but if you took the wheel off you'd have to dress it round again.

I bought a borazon wheel and forgot about wheels

I found a couple capacitors that should work on Ebay. Two for the price of one. 8 bucks and free shipping
