It's been 25 yrs since I last made a race chain but I remember spinning and making my own presets.
Before making Oregon 72/76 race chain I was building Windsor 3/8 AT chisel bit chain with pieces I bought through my saw dealer.
I could buy bags of rivets in both .058 and .063 flange and bags of side links. I'd break a chain down for the cutters and drive links , then dog bone etc and build from there.
I think Oregon sold all the chain parts too and may still do...........
Making a living with a saw since age 16.
