Oregon bars
« on: November 14, 2015, 06:13:29 pm »
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced abnormal wear on newer bars?

I recently picked up another 22" for the 2186 and have only put two tanks on the bar....  and it's already looking like I have 5 years worth of hard running on it!

Just checking....

Oregon is a crapshoot for rail hardness.

We had a run of bad power match bars as well as about a dozen sprocket failures.   Oregon rep came out to one of our job sites to make sure WE weren't the problem.   Burned up a brand new tip in one tank.  Rep was at a loss...

Whew, it isn't just me then....not that I'd wish problems on anyone else.

Guess I'll need to re-think bar selection once this one is completely toast.  Is there anyway to 'harden rails' for the do it yourself fella?  Heat treatment perhaps?
