This thread goes back almost 3 years.
Still a bit confused.

Looking to put a new bar/chain on my MS200T that currently has a Stihl 14" 3005 000 4809 bar
What 14" bar and chain would you currently recommended to be give the best performance?

If I were running a 14" what you have is what I would have on there.

If wanting something new look at ............  3005 000 7409 Stihl 14" Rollomatic E Light Chainsaw Bar 3/8LP .050 50 Drive Links

OEM sprocket nose chainsaw bar from Stihl. Stihl Rollomatic E Light chainsaws bars are up to 30% lighter than standard bars. Bars are made of two steel plates which have been hollowed out and electrically welded together. The open areas have been filled with a fiber reinforced polymide to create a lightweight bar that is still rigid. The lightweight design gives your saw better balance during limbing operations. Ideal bar for professional arborists. This bar has relatively small nose radius which helps reduce the incident of kickback

Wanted to try the STIHL PS chain because of this thread.

It is not listed on the STIHL USA web page, but it is in their catalog, so I was not sure how much trouble it would be to get.  Asked a Midwest STIHL (regional distributor) rep I saw at a tool show if I could order just a loop.  He said that they will make up loops at the region if a dealer does not stock it by the roll.

Went to my local STIHL dealer and they were familiar with the difference between PS and PS3 chain, but only stocked loops in common sizes for STIHL saws (e.g. 55 DL).  I asked for 56 DL, they looked it up, and placed it in their next order (I am not in a hurry - seemed easier than adding a drive link).

So, my experience was positive in terms of ordering this chain.  I did have to pay a little more than this dealer would have charged off the roll, and I have to wait a few days, but I did not have to order a 25 foot roll to get a custom size.

I dont understand why all the stihl dealers isnt stocking PS and PS3.  I had a tree company owner contact me 30mins away wanting some PS3. He tried his local stihl dealers with no help getting it.  So I made him a loop for one of his husky 338's 45dl to try  out.

bought  loops of 52 56 45 of the PS from a dealer friend not local, made from his bulk 100' roll.  But this is for my use, except for the 52 I sent up to a tree climber in Canada.

Mine stocks it, but only in common size loops for arborist saws.  Doesn't sell enough of the other size loops to justify stocking a reel of it I guess.

Yep.   They looked at me like I was from Mars when I asked about 63PS3 and 63PS at a local Stihl dealer.....

I need to get a 57DL loop to try out.  Will likely get a few 56DL and 62DL loops after that...

16" A041 mount Windsor Mini-Pro replaceable sprocket nose bar.  I'm putting it on a Poulan S25-CVA, but it could have been on a small Echo before.  A 56DL loop is too short and a 57DL loop fits right.

Aaron, got anything to trade or just refund my cost for chain plus ship as gift PP?

I could make up a 57dl PS3.    Need to see what I have left on the roll first.  Could ship in a small bubble wrap envelope to help keep shipping cost down.

Thanks Kevin,

I don't think I have anything you'd want in trade right now.  Would gladly pay your cost for the chain and the shipping for the loop.
