Good for you guys.  8) 8) Use what works for you.  ;)

For one thing when I test chains. I dont rock in the cuts I make sure I can reach across and make 1 single cut straight through all the way down. I then listen to the saws motor to make sure it isnt bogging in each cut like one of the videos.

All I know is my echo pole saw feels like a light sabre with the PS3 on it now days. less time in the cut means less time of me having to hold that puppy over my head.  :D

I know what works for me and many others out there testing and using.  :D

This is how I try and do  testing when possible.  If not then the testing gets irregular, even hitting a knot throws it off. You got to try and listen to the motor and keep them rpm's in the cuts.  :P Straight across no rocking in the cuts.

Were we live the trees grow almost round and are cut that way. To see what works best for us using saws for a living means testing in a real enviorment with real cuts in knots and hark with what ever comes with it.

If you do same style with two saws in same wood with little difference it is hard to believe there is much difference.
You hear the motor running in the video right?

When comparing chains it is good to use same wood, saws, bars and runner. How you do it is of less importance as long as it is done the same on the stuff compared.

I was hoping to see video of the chains that cut so different.

I gave up video taping and uploading years ago.  If by myself, I video, come in and time. Most times now a friend is over to do the timing, so I dont bother with videoing.

Another reason we are liking the PS PS3 chains over here is it has a chisel cutter.   Guys are square filing the PS PS3 and going even faster.  Makes a great 40cc under race chain too.

Oh man this is to cool. Back when I did the 3/8 LP picco low profile chain test. I had just watched them and timed them on my puter back in 2011? Well some how they embedded themselves on my hard drive.

So I am uploading the chain test to youtube as I type.

Kevin, I haven't tested the Stihl PS3 yet. I'm up in the Black Hills in South Dakota with my family, we're presently camping at a campground right next to Mt Rushmore. Beautiful country and great folk here and food :) Spending 3 weeks here in the Dakotas , won't be home until 1st week of Sept.
On Friday we're going up to Deadwood to see one of the biggest classic car shows in the world.  8)
Making a living with a saw since age 16.

I haven't tested the Stihl PS3 yet.

You should have the newest out PS non-safety. I never tested the PS yet either. Only the older PS3 I got in 2011.
