How big is the wood in the thousands of cuts you make with this type of chain?

Good points Magnus, seeing pro cutting in Sweden is mostly softwood  production a 35cc arborist saw makes no sense to be used.

Arborist work with these class of saws is big business over here in North America and other parts of Europe. Myself once being a logger now an arborist ,I would never want to go back to my earlier career.
Since Stihl introduced the MS201T with ratings dropping with performance not so good as the saw it replaced the MS200T, the company is trying to bring back some of that popularity by performance with the recent introduced 63 PS3 / PS.

A long 12 hour day removing limby spruce in my customers back yards where there is no room to fell and cut up with my larger ground saws.
Some of these trees 100 feet tall. [30 meters]

When thinning you learn the art of finding room... Tight spruce you cut your way in to see 3m in front of you....

Here is not much spruce manually cut that is over 15cm or under 40 on stump. If so it is often moonshine farmers, owners of small areas that can't carry cost of machine or pro going in to do it.
Logging here in my area is very different from higher up in Sweden.
The loggers I service all cut leafed wood. Oak, Beech, Ash occasionally birch. If the go in pined forest it is often by machine to cut edges, over sized or storm felled. In any case, not much limbing...
A bit higher up it is very different. I live in north of Skåne, 30-40km North from me it changes, 800km up from me there is hardly no leaved except birch. 1500km up no birch, No big trees at all inland there, just along cost and half way in. A bit higher you have no trees at all inland, subarctic climate, above polar circle. To the Finnich side in north there is Forrest that actualy is joined with Russian Taiga.

All I know is the guys I had in mind for this chain when it came out.

1. My cheap minded budget firewood cutters that are using 36cc-42cc saws (usually poulans). They are using 16" bars cutting hardwoods.

2. Guys still GTG racing top handles in 8x8 and the 0-40cc rear handle class racing in 8x8 or up to 9-10" rounds.

They LOVE IT and I love these new stihl chains too. Thats is all that matters. Nothing more to say.  ;)

ok so on a little bigger saw 50ish cc  does this make sense?

it would be like a hotrod big power light chassis  right?

or does chip clearance make the difference.
How would it compare to oregons 34 chain the lopro .325 or the 21
orr what if 3/8 was set up for a small saw with a taller raker?

Where is the sweet spot.

Kevin thank you for you work.

David I only know of 2 people here that may of tested that idea.

I know I talked about with 1 of them.  I just dont see it out cutting a good 325 or full 3/8 on a stock or ported 50cc saw.  JMO nothing to back it besides my 325, full 3/8 testing from the past when full 3/8 was on top of 325 every time. In 1 cut timed cuts.
