Professional square ground chain, mail order, thoughts?
« on: August 01, 2014, 06:03:14 pm »
Wanted some feed back on the thoughts of a professional mail order chain grinding side gig while I'm down again.
I know there are some others who do this, but mine would be square ground on either a Ziegelmeyer or Silvey Pro Sharp, different angles depending on wood type and rakers matched to tooth size.
Would be the larger chain, .050-.063, would not matter if they were used, hand filed or not. Anything too rocked obviously would have to have lots of life left in it.
Postage would be the flat rate prices of the USPS Priority Mail boxes.
$7.50 per, and I would become a sponsor.
I guarantee a very sharp chain, I have 20+ years grinding experience.
Thoughts?

Guys needing square chain done up or a saw worked over. Jasha is top notch and on west coast.

Please tell me I remembered your name right after all these years.   :-[

I could by some rolls and sell ground loops as well, once dull they could be sent back. I am having surgery next week, but once I get back I'll hit this pretty hard.

For guys that cant square file or want to spend the money on a square grinder. This is a great opportunity  to give square chain a try.

Wonder how many loops you can get in the small $5.80 flat rate box. Guess that depends on drive link count.

I have a square grinder, but I wanted to ask if you would convert round to square and if you would do .325 chain.
Since you cannot buy square ground .325 that I know of, it could be a specialty item that someone might want.
