I've converted some of the small cutter .325 for a fiend. It was easy to do - to get in there- and there's not as much metal to remove.

However, with the grinder set up normally doing regular 3/8's (LGX,RS), the angle underneath the top plate is not as sharp as on 3/8ths.

Normally, I have no use for the small cutter .325 as I don't have any saws less than 44.4 cc on which I run .325 Stihl RS. Stihl RS & RM has what I call a large cutter .325 tooth.

I think you could do better than that.  You can fit 137 links in a regular stihl chain box.  If you take your time and fold the chains I bet you can get around 500 in a small flat rate.  That would be a heavy SOB when you get it packed.

Jasha besides this thread, there is where to buy online  board. You could post your services offered of chain, saw work etc.

For the guys that go looking there for where to buy online.

Offering square in that stihl RS .325 chain would be sweet. I had some for a project once and square RS chain alone knocked the cut times on a muffler modded 290 another 50%. Compared to the semi chisel RM3 that had come on it.

I just got 6- 3/8 64dl (384dl) in a flat rate box.  There was enough room for another.  I'm interested in some round to sq. conversions just can't do it right now.

I couldn't remember how much you could get. I knew it was 2-105 and a 115 along with boxes and had them wrapped up.

I have about 4 chains in .325 that I converted to square and use on two of my Poulan 335.   I really like them.

I have a loop or two of Stihl 63PS (picco) chain that I've converted to square.  That stuff is quick.

I just mailed (5) 70-72 DL chains (3/8", .050) in a small flat rate box - weighed in a just under 4 pounds.  Some chains 'fold' tighter than others, depending on cutter shape and size.  I know that it would not apply to most square ground chains, but chains with the low-kickback bumpers take up more space (another reason to hate them?).

A few years back an on-line friend mailed me 33 pounds of used chains in a large flat rate box.  The mailman actually stopped to congratulate me - he wasn't upset; a younger guy, thought it was cool that someone was 'really getting their money's worth!'
