Saw Chain Reference ManualsMost manufacturers of saws and chains have technical information on their websites. Some also publish helpful information that you can read, print, download, save, etc. Because there is so much to try and remember, I refer to these periodically, and refer others to them frequently. You may want to save some of the PDF versions on your hard drive, in case they become hard to find on the web.
Oregon Maintenance and Safety ManualIncludes the chain basics (pitch, gauge, parts of the cutter, sequencing, etc.); sharpening; repair and maintenance of chain, bars, and sprockets; diagnosing damage and failure of chains, bars, and sprockets; and technical data on all of their current chains.
