short hard nose bars

been junking some small poulan factory bars today eat up tips. found some short hardnose bars 14 and 16 inch any disadvantage to using them on wildthing class saws.

Had a bunch of them too. I dont know where they have went but no biggie. 

Usually the banana nose style.

have any  of you used hard nose bars on these small saws and how well did it work out.

They came on the small saws 10" 12" etc and up. I used them a on them and they were fine.

so if customer questions the hard nose bar just tell them they will love it.

Just make sure they run the chain alittle looser.  Dont tighten it up so tight like they do.

Good for trenching and root cutting too.  ;D

thanks I have never used one. they look like they might be tougher than these new oem bars

I have the same 14" hard nose bar on a Poulan s-25 that was on it when I bought the saw new .Now I know I've went through at least 25 chains on that thing since the mid 70's .Bar is still fine but I've dressed it on a belt sander several times in all those years .

Saw is fine too .I ran that thing over 30 years before I had to rebuild the carb.

much tougher than newer roller tips then just pitched 4 in scrap pile all dished out right behind roller. oem bars
