Why are my round filed chains faster then Atop filed?
« on: September 23, 2015, 04:37:45 pm »
I bought an Atop file guide and im not sure im using correctly. I have a new round filed chain and a round filed chain with about 6 sharpening s and both are noticeable faster then the Atop filed chains.  I tested it in 8x8 poplar.  Am I suppose to use a certain type on chain? I used an Oregon 72lpx chain and I tried a STIHL rsc chain

This is the best pic I can get. I will try to get a better pic later of both Atop filed chains for here is the oregon chain

Also I think my free hand square filed chains are faster. I dont have much time or experience in square chains so im not exactly sure what im looking for

That looks like 72LPX100R

I won't be buying any of that with all the extra weight whirling around out there?

Set up like Stihl RS3?
