I ask Bob (that worked for poulan) about the reason the older poulan sign was maroon.  = Bob - in the early days there really wasn’t a brand color. Red was used frequently, and it can be seen on the serial plates of the older saws. Then they painted the saws beige, but it was rather boring. McCulloch started making all of their saws bright yellow and then someone at Poulan picked the lime green color to compete against the McCulloch yellow.
