I've got an Sp 81 also in addition to the 805/850.Either one does real well running a 32" with skip chain .

I've heard they made up tp 42" bars used in the PNW but have never seen one .

I have about enough parts to build another 850 when I get the time .

I heard it said the 82 cc Macs would cut about as good as an 066 but I rather doubt it .They will hang with a 281 Huskey though about even Steven .Got one of those too . ;)

They'll cut with a stock 660 in up to about 28-30" wood.  The 91cc Stihl will start pulling away from there as the wood gets bigger (although the Mac will handle the wood fine).  Biggest bar I run on the 82cc Macs is 32".  Have ran my SP-81 with the 32" b/c quite a bit in wood up to 40" or so (Doug Fir, oak, and maple mostly).   That Mac handles it surprisingly well.  The manual oiler is helpful to keep those longer bars oiled too.  When cutting big wood with these saws, they run out of fuel and oil fast.  Tanks aren't very big.

I have a friend who has some 40-42"ish bars for these saws.  Don't think he's ran them.  He has tons of old saws/bars/etc as he's putting together a logging museum (will be at the Antique Powerland in Brooks, Oregon).  Biggest bar I've seen in use on these Macs is 36".  One of my SP-81's (a locked up project/parts saw that lived a hard life) came to me wearing a 32" b/c with .404 chain (98DL of skip chisel).  That's a lot of load for any 82cc saw.

I've got two 36"Oregon ,open roller plus a sprocket nose .Due to the fact I've got larger saws with longer bars I've never used them.Hanging on nails with the rest of them. For the most part you get get just about anything with a 32"in this part of Ohio usually much larger than that is not neccessary.Fact I use a 20" most of the time.

I have 25", 32", and 36" bars and chains for my Stihl 660 Magnum that I haven't used in recent years.

I have a 28" bar for my Dolmar 7900's and Husqvarna 372XP's as well as many 24" & 20" Power Match bars.

What's happened at mine & my Son's houses is we've done the felling and bucking with 20" bars. Poulan 3500 & Husqvarna 365 Specials.

There are some big trees around that would tax a 36" but I haven't personally had the pleasure.

Reminds me, I got to sharpen the 20" chain on the 3500 when the weather gets warmer.

The Partner/Mcculloch came today .It really isn't too bad from what I can see .The guy said it had 130 PSI static but it has a short rope and I suspect it to me more .

It will have to wait for nicer weather and when I'm not working 12 hour days until I can get on it .

Once I get that thing going which I will ,I'll probabley hang one of those 36" bars on it .100 cc's it should not be a problem .

When Adam did that one for Kojo he didn't have a short bar and if I recall I had both a Mac mount 16" plus a Husqvarna 16" that worked .Danged bars ,sometimes there are slight differences on original Mac bars that may or may not work on other saws .You never know until you try .

Neat saws Al. Worked on a few over the years (race saws) would really enjoy restoring one to use at work.

Aaron, I'd love to drive up for the gtg next Oct.  The park looks incredible on the website.

I doubt I do much other than restore it to work saw standards .Might tweek it a tad bit depending on how it runs .The Kojo saw damn near wore me out .About like rope starting a Harley. That one needed a kick starter or a gorilla on the rope .

Glad to hear it Adam.   Looking forward to meeting you.  Yeah its a great park.  The state let it slide towards the end of their run with it.  Lots of work has been done by volunteers.  Rebuilding buildings, clearing trails, etc.  Still more work to do of course.  We're getting there....
