Was offered a deal that could put alot of stihls across my bench for repairs.

Friend took a job over the winter as a head maintenance over a gated private community.  He said they have a contract with a local dealer for their stihls, OPE and zero turn mowers etc.

Told me the grounds crews use a saw till it wont start anymore and just buy another saw. The way he talked there is a pile of them just setting with unknown issues.
He ask me if I would be interested in going through them for him and getting estimates on what can be saved  8). Reason is he is not to fond of the dealers work and their repairs they have done already on other things.

Told him sure. He said he just has to get approved from the next man up the chain now.

I just wonder what stihls they would be using. If like the ones like I see the state buys for the farm it would be the clamshells.  :'(

Looks great and nice to build your own parts too.

I envy you guys that can weld.
Least I have a nephew that welds now. He got hired already (welding fork lift bodies etc)  by a company and he isnt even graduated HS yet.

Sounds like a great opportunity to me that you have there.     I hope it works out for you to make some extra cash.

I have started doing a little more work for a tree service guy in Cheyenne and he just dropped off 20 chains for sharpening.   Easy money.   I also got another Stihl 460 from him that he gave me because of a scored piston and cylinder.   So that will be another keeper.    I will port it when I have it apart and that does not mean dropping a cylinder as some people think.
