Blitz 40
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:23:20 pm »
SNAFU!!!

I wrote a detailed post about my new little old Blitz 40, then attached a photo of 124KB. The next forum page told me the attachment was too large... only takes less than 100KB attachments. I tried to go back to correct the post. I opened my photo file in another window and re-sized the photo to 84KB, closed the photo file, then came back to the forum window to correct the post... and the forum had erased all the text in the post!! Still showed the title and the 124KB attachment, but no text...  >:(  #@*&%$#*!

The Blitz 40 is the same as the Oleo-Mac 240 and Olympyk 240. I need a part number for the sprocket, and instructions for adjusting the automatic oiler. If anyone can help with this info, I'll appreciate it.

I hate it when I lose text to a system glitch!!!

Anyway... if one of you fellers or swampers has the above info for a Blitz 40/Oleo-Mac 240/Olympyk 240, please post it here. Many thanks!!

Sorry for your troubles posting, but it cost me $30 for pic storage here so I set pic limits at 100kb per pic. Now the text part I haven't a clue on.  ;)

Never seen a saw like that. Looks cool.

No biggie, Kevin.
I'll remember the sizing in the future...

I was astounded by this little saw! I bought it mainly because mercurymike has one solitary Blitz 60 and said he'd never seen another Blitz. So when this one came up, and was cheap enough, I grabbed it for a less common European saw for the Alien Section of my collection.

She fired-up right away and cuts plenty powerful for smaller tasks. Has a 14" bar and 91 chain on her. But the sprocket is somewhat worn,  spurs inside drum, moves in and out about 1/4-inch and no thrust washer(s). No bar guides  (surely they did have, originally), and can throw the chain if I'm not real careful in aligning sprocket, bar, bar tensioning stub, and clutch cover when installing the bar and chain and tensioning the chain.

I'm hoping someone can tell me parts numbers for sprocket, bar guides and how to adjust the oiler...

Has Olyman checked in here yet??

Hey, Olyman!!
Glad you found yer way here...
Thanks for sending me the numbers for the sprocket and washers.
I've run 'em all through eBay and no results...  ???
Maybe I'd better email Scott...

One number I didn't understand...
What part exactly is a "For a Good Time, call Maria"??...
and does it fit on the inside or the outside of the clutch drum??  :-\

Did you find out anything about how to adjust the bar oiler?
I see two screws right above the chain tensioner screw which I think are for the oiler...
I guess I could take the oiler apart... but would rather try adjusting the AO first.  Maybe I'll empty the oil tank and try running some kerosene through by revving the engine... She runs great!! Just doesn't throw oil off the bar tip when I try it at high revs in front of a piece of white pinewood...

Yeah... The Alien Section... Stihls, Huskys, anything not made in North America...  8)
