chainsaw conks out when i press the thottle...

hi all,

it is 2 stroke - 25:1 petrol/oil mix.


with the choke out it starts but LOTS of blue smoke.

then when i press the throttle - it conks out.

do i need a little more oil in the mix, or maybe clean the spark plug?

Have you tried adjusting your L side on carb?

Just guessing. I had one that would start and idle. Soon as you hit the gas it would die.   Mine the carb diaphragm was hardened stiff.  Carb kit and was good to go.

Now this dont mean yours will be that but it is a guess.

Might want to check spark arrestor screen. Just got saw out of shop and that was the cause. Never even thought of it, saw would idle but hit the throttle and would die. Burned off gunk on spark screen with torch and started without spark screen to blow any stuff out of muffler, re-install screen and set carb. Might want to check it as a possible cause.
