Craftsman 358.351580
« on: March 12, 2021, 03:25:40 pm »
Hi Folks,

This is my first post.  I have a Craftsman 358.351580 I bought around 1999.  I need to replace the fuel line and the primer line.

On page 22 in my manual it shows part # 530069216 with a description of Primer Line Kit (Small Dia).

In the picture, it references the fuel line AND the primer line as 16.   I have not taken it apart yet to check but will do so.

https://www.searspartsdirect.com/manual/4jd70ldd35-000247/craftsman-358351580-gas-chainsaw-parts

I thought I would see if anyone here knows if these lines are the same size.   If not any idea what the sizes are supposed to be for this model?    Maybe Craftsman used the same size on all of their models.  I see kits online but have not seen one that mentions 358.351580 yet.   I am still looking and figure I will find what I need.

Thanks for your time
Brian

If yours is a newer strato it could be different routing.

Check your routing to see if like this older 2150.

If I recall right the primer lines were all the same size. Only the line from tank with fuel filter on end to carb was smaller.

This was the fuel line routing on this poulan 2150.  Marked them A B C and at both end areas to show routing.

Thanks Cut4Fun,

I will pull it apart when I get some time this week to check.

When you say "newer strato,"  does that mean within the last 20 or so years?   I bought this saw new in 99.

Strato has that air intake above the carb that opens up with linkage attachment to carb.

Hey C4F,

I fixed my chainsaw today.  I looks like the older 2150.   No air intake like on the strato.

I used this video although not exactly the same as what I have but real close and your help to fix it.

Getting the hoses through was a little challenging only because my needle nose pliers would not reach the other side of the tank to grab the large hose.   My neighbor has a pair and I was able to ease it on through.  Real easy actually once I borrowed those.    This saw has been down for awhile and it fired right up.

Thanks for the help.
Brian

PS.  Oh I bought this

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GY8SC8/?coliid=I2N34OUAL1IP7N&colid=37ED55U6RCEEE&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

and it worked like a champ.   I just had to work the filter onto the small hose and again onto the carb.  Not hard just tight the way I like em :)
