I have one of the 24cc Echo pole saws and it does quite well for its size.  Power Prunner is what the stickers say.  It telescopes out to 12 feet and has a 5 foot extension, so I figure its 17ft plus half my height for 20 ft.  I wonder how many of those extensions it would take?

Echo PPT 261

UPDATE: I have left this PPT 261 stock still and was having troubles cold starting since I got it. No H or L on the EPA California carb  ???

Well today firing it up for the first time I was paying close attention. Primer worked right and slide choke on. Noticed choke wasnt getting full travel shown in opening on air filter cover. So after taking cover off pushed choke lever the rest of the way. Put air filter cover back on choke wouldnt move to off  :o. Ding ding ding the light went off. Unscrewed the hold down bolt through air filter cover and put a thick washer on it between cover and bolt head. Choke was never closing all the way before and now I have full travel of choke lever and fires right up.

Well found a new use for the echo ppt261 polesaw.  By wife's suggestion.

She had been trying to get the die off in one of our big trumpet vines that had I bet 80% or better die off.  She had been using hand friskers limb pruners and ladder half way up, but they wasnt big enough for most of it.
It worked but had to make sure while coming down through it I didnt hit the metal standing seam roof on the old garage. Pumped up the ole forearms pretty good. but the wife is happy and that is what matters.

Good deal!  Are those fixed or telescopic?

I may of just shot myself in the foot. Guy looking for a echo power pruner that extended.  I priced mine with a firm price of $200 below new before taxes   :-\

Saving some info.  http://www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/3ecb6c1f-6a54-4d96-9fb8-57b7da80d78d

When sold new this was said. Designed for the professional who wants the best with all the features. The PPT 261 will give you 9' of extended reach, and will telescope out to 12' 10" ! You can even add another 5' of extension. Comes standard with an aggressive 12" chain saw head and automatic oiling system. Commercial-duty Echo 25.4 cc engine has more than enough power to run hard all day. Weighs 16.7 lbs. Model 261 is carb approved for California and has a slightly more powerful engine.   ???

Knew about the carb but not about the motor part.

Rutroa guy called and wanted to come look at it tomorrow evening.

Guess I could use the $ from the PPT and JD to get the PAS with broom and saw head.
