I remember reading and seeing them years ago.

How many different ones and who was making which models?

I see one on Ebay occasionally usually go pretty cheap.  Not for me unless it was cheap, pristine and running.  Don't know any thing about them either.

Green Machine was a commercial quality line from Homelite. I never came across any of their saw line but they made top notch trimmers.

I have an older green machine trimmer designed to accept attachments. It has a very powerful little zenoah (21cc?)...it runs great.

I have an early '80s Shindaiwa built Green Machine trimmer.  Also have a 1984 vintage Stihl FS80AVR branded Shindaiwa that is similar to the Green Machine.
