Chainsaw Repair

On those odd supposidley tamper resistant screws you can often turn them with a piece of small plastic fuel line .Try as they might the have never been able to make things totaly tamper proof .

You can probabley throw a set of generic rings in those little Stihls if the chrome isn't shot and give them a new lease on life .

They are what they are but they aren't bad for little saws .Ha they won't win any races or slay many oaks but they will cut firewood and trim apple trees in the back yard .

So is this gizmo a regular brush mower or a wheeled string trimmer ?

I just recently bought an old Whipper brush mower for little of nothing to get the 8 HP engine to fix my buddys log splitter .From what I gather this is the same design the DR brush mower uses .Since I have a couple more large Briggs engines laying around I'm thinking about hanging another engine on it .Those things are supposed to be tough enough to mow down 1 1/2" saplings .

One of those 8HP Briggs engines I picked up also for a song  was a go kart engine .I pulled the head and watched the valves and it definatley has a reground cam shaft .

Now what they do on a kart engine is turn down about 1/2 of the stub end of the 1" crankshaft to 3/4" so they can use a Comet clutch .As luck would have it I landed  a stock unturned crank with a rod and piston off of flea bay for less than they get for  connecting rod which I need to repair another engine .Geeze between chainsaws and Briggs engines I'm up to my hip pockets in small engines .
