Maruyama
« on: May 19, 2014, 10:36:26 pm »
Picked up a. New 30cc Maruyama weed wacker to supplement our Stihl fs55's on a fire reduction  job we did last week. Machine was a little over $400 and ran very well. Easily held its own with the Stihls and had a nice sound and low end grunt. Japan made and quality looks good.  Anyone have any long term experience with these?

Never seen one.  Do they make their own for trimmers?  Chainsaws with their name is other makers.

 Engines

High Power. High Performance. Genuine.

Genuine Maruyama Power. Maruyama designs, engineers and builds engines in three distinct classes. Each is the product of years of hard won, field-proven experience in two-stroke technology. Each is high performance and highly serviceable, full of quick, high torque power and long-term reliability. And each is a model of the extraordinary quality that is the foundation of our products and our reputation.

The Iron 5 commercial warranty. The only 5 year commercial-use warranty in the industry.

CER Class Engine
Incredibly fuel efficient!

The MARUYAMA CER series 2-Stroke engines are the latest in our line of ultra-clean models using our revolutionary HERE (High Efficiency Recirculator Engine) technology. With this technology, we can meet or exceed today’s ultra-low Tier3/Phase3 CARB and EPA engine regulations. With 30cc and 42cc models, this is done without the need for a catalytic muffler. For all CER models, this is done using fewer components and a proven, less-costly single-venturi rotary Walbro carburetor. The most significant visible change is internal; a pair of recirculator grooves across the exhaust face of the piston. These engines produce excellent power and torque characteristics with fuel economy as much as 50% lower than prior models.

Made from the highest quality materials and components using state-of-the-art CNC and robotics.
Incredibly fuel efficient; Best in class fuel economy. As much as 50% better than prior models.
Crankcase volume configured to provide max. efficiency of recirculator (HERE) design.
Larger flywheel and cylinder fin area for max. cooling.
Walbro 1-pc. PCI ignition on some models; Internally advances timing for optimum performance and lowest emission output.

Hard chrome-plated cylinder for an even LONGER engine life.
    Heavy-duty, washable foam air filter.
Ultra-smooth polished chrome surface for lowest possible emissions.
Inside the engine, the piston recirculator grooves are the key to the patented HERE low-emission system.
All ball and needle-bearing construction inside engine.
Stainless steel mufflers designed for best performance and low noise.
Forged, chrome-moly 3-pc. crankshaft with forged conrod.

VENOM Engine
Incredibly fuel efficient; About 50% savings over non-compliant engines!

The new MARUYAMA VENOM Series 2-Stroke engines are much more technologically advanced than their predecessors. We have implemented our state-of-the-art HERE PHASE2 (3rd Generation Recirculator design – High Efficiency Recirculator Engine) technology in the creation of these ultra-clean modeled engines.

The VENOM B42 and B30 engines meet today’s ultra-low Tier3/Phase3 CARB and EPA engine regulations. With these 41.5cc and 30.2cc models, this is done without the need for a catalytic muffler. Our VENOM brush cutters cut with a vengeance.
Unique features:

The cylinder is offset from the crankshaft centerline by 3mm.
The crankshaft counterweight is offset by 15°.

Benefit:

    Lower Vibration ….
    Lower Emissions …
    Improved engine performance.
Incredibly fuel efficient; As much as 50% better than prior models.

3-PC. hard chrome plated and polished cylinder for an even LONGER engine life.
    Heavy-duty, washable foam air filter.

I'll look it over tomorrow, gonna buy a smaller one for my home. We bought one of their hand held hedge trimmers last year and it has been flawless. They build a top handle pruning Saw too! Can't find one here though...

Kev, got the B23L straight shaft machine for the light duty weeding and edging at my house. Nice and light, runs perfect. Has the easy fill auto head on it.  Feed a length of line in and wind the head backwards to fill. No fuss.  23cc power isn't suitable for heavy clearing but perfect for my needs.  We have a couple of thr B30L's at work and they are excellent for commercial weed clearing with blade or string head. Super torquey motors on the 30cc unit.
