I have an AH58 powered Mono/Montgomery Wards WD60 with a 25" RN bar and 7/16" chain.  Haven't gotten it running yet.  Just need to take the time to clean up the points and then rebuild the Tillotson HC carb.    It'll be a GTG/fun saw.  Oughta noodle well, as the clutch is completely exposed....

For those that don't know, the HC was an HL without a pump section.  It's gravity fed.  Tillotson HCs were used on a number of consumer/farmer saws of the early 1960's (Such as a Mac 15, Homelite 500, Homelite Buz, several Monos, some Clintons, some Bolens, and others).  Uses the same needle/seat as most HL's, and uses the HL's metering diaphragm and gasket.

I have an AH47 powered Bolens Thrifty 3010 that belongs to the 'future museum' of a local park (was a Ca state park until funding was pulled) that I do volunteer work at.  I rehab'd the ignition and rebuilt the Tillotson HC on it.  Still not running right.  Acting like it has a bad reed, so I'll swap in a good one from a parts AH47.

I also have a few misc. AH47 powered consumer/farmer saws that came to me in a large estate sale 'chainsaw collection' buy last year.  Haven't really gotten into them.  Will likely part most of them out.  IIRC there's a few Sears/David Bradley and Mono built saws in the bunch.  One that was locked up and partially stripped has been entertainment for my daughter.  She takes it apart and puts it back together while I'm working on saws....8)

I had one of those WD60's with the AH58. I gave it to AL Smith

There is a 'Power Products' thread over on AS.  Lots of good information on the breed.

Most often used on the early dirt simple saws of the '50s.

Seems everybody and his brother used the Lauson lawnmower engine turned on it's side to spin a saw chain.

Carl the AH81 and AH82 are both 131cc.

The AH58 (and a few others) be 95cc/5.8ci.  Your saw looks to be a Lombard 658 with the 95cc AH58.

The 648 "Goliath" has an AH47 and is only 77cc.

Check out the 683 "Foresters Fury" (how's that for a cool chainsaw name?).  AH81 powered gear drive.

Aaron:  I was going by memory.  Not often good.  Geezer.  AH58 it was on the engine tag.  The sicker on the tank half gone.

More pictures and background on the Power products thread on AS.

Billy Croford's saw now his grandson's.

Hell Carl, my memory's spotty now.  Can't imagine it'll be as good as yours when I have a couple more decades under my belt....

Of all the Lombard IPL's I received from Joyce, there were none for the above model.
I posted it in the saw library on Chainsaw Collectors.

The Mono belongs to Wekendlmbrjak.  With the exhaust stack pointed out in front, it doubles as a fine leaf blower.

i am having an issue with the starter recoil.  saw was not started in about a year.

the recoil may engage 1 out of every 15 pulls.  my bad rotator cuffs are not taking this very well.

guessing the recoil pawls must have stuck in the extended out position, and it appears that they have worn the cup.

i put a dab of grease under the washer, and it is now noticeably easier to spin.  but does not engage any better.

the next thing i tried, was to bend the dawgs a little bit.  did not help.

will post up some photos in a bit.
