The Lombard check is the 90 deg. Fitting below the muffler next to the clutch cover.

Plan on finding a Lombard to swap fittings with and make the one a manual oiler only saw.

In the meantime you can remove the hex cap and pump sealer in to stop the oil suckage.

My wife's hot glue gun works well.

Any idea where I could find a assembly diagram?  Is this line under the coil an impulls line for the oil pump?  I removed the plug and found a screen and a small washer inside.  Seems like there should be more?

Yup, there was a rubber duckbill in there and it pressurized the oil tank to force oil to the bar mount when the throttle trigger is pulled.

If you plug that line you should prop open the shutoff valve connected to the throttle trigger.  That way you can pump oil on the chain at idle.

I once tried a NOS check valve but it lasted only ten minutes befor it went shot.

The deal with the Lombard valve is the only fix I have discovered so far.

What are the dimensions of the duckbill?  I have a Lombard saw but hate to steal parts from it.  What model Poulon is close?  So many questions. LOL

The Lombard check valve needed for the repair is the 90 deg fitting just below the muffler forward of the oil tank fill cap.

This one followed me home last week. I emptied the gas tank of some old gas and put in some fresh. Pulled the spark plug and put some fresh gas down the hole, put the plug back in and pulled a few times. I had a large cloud of smoke but it at least ran. Sharpened the chain a little (might be original) and after 2 pulls it starts up so over to the 12 poplar tree for a test cut.  With 5.0 cubes the tree did not stand a chance, this old saw runs very strong.  Is this one made by Remington??

Does it have a roller nose bar? Most Remingtons did have one. Good looking saw, good find.

Can you just seal off the auto oiler and just use the manual pump?

Yes, but you need to prop open the shut off valve connected to the throttle trigger.  Remove the recoil housing and watch the action as you work the throttle.  A wire link pushes down connected to the valve stem.  Hold it open and tie a zip tie around it to hold it open.

Plug the auto oiler line and you now have a manual saw.
