repairing cheap saw
« on: February 13, 2012, 05:08:52 pm »

Iv'e made new recoil start pawls for this cheap Chinese horror, out of aluminium, to get a bit more use out of it as they broke off when it was still new, the parts are unobtainable, it was passed my way in bits, so i'm guessing they are sprung to make contact with the pull start rope pulley hub ( white part in pic) when its stationary, and disengage with centrifugal force against the spring when it's running, is this right ?

I ran it but my pawls would not clear the hub, so they need lightening at the tail / outer end ?
