If you were going to run a saw, as a engine, with no Bar and Chain attached.
Would you just not add bar oil? Will that hurt anything?
I do not care if the oiler system gets ruined, but do not want to hurt the overall saw.
Do I remove the oiler parts?

what would you do?

This is for a Husky 142 Clamshell

Make sure the clutch is tight and that the clutch bell is over the clutch shoes or everything will grenade never to be found again.

Thats what I would do, just not put bar oil in.

Think of all the go karts, bikes etc with chainsaw motors on them.

Go kart engines didn't have oil pumps, I would remove the pump and plug the tank outlet. As was mentioned, make darn sure the clutch is tight. I had one depart an XL-12, good thing no one was anywhere near me.

A Clutch assembly zooming around on the garage floor and ricocheting off the walls is rather scary.
