Been using this with brush cutter blade all year off /on with great results.   Yesterday  it let me down. Wife wanted me to go around and cut the zinnias down that the frost killed.
Well go figure it decided not starting today. Could only get it to pop if I squirt mix through carb.  So back on the bench it goes after I am not pizzed off at it.
Looks like I am going to buy a brushcutter for the new echo to keep on hand too.

Does it have a Zama carb.    I have seen a lot of those with issues and sometimes I cannot find carb kits for certain models of the Zama carbs used on Stihl string trimmers.

Old oem one wasnt rebuildable in 2017.  I am guessing a stiff diaphragm or I will just throw another carb on it.

Found in thread were I put a aftermarket on it. =

Old carb just had a L and looked like a brass gov on side. I ordered a new aftermarket with H and L.  New echo lines and running like a new one.

Was going to remove carb yesterday. But noticed the fuel line had split right where it goes up on inlet.  So should find out soon if easy fix that was just very untimely.

Went ahead and ordered me a brushcutter attachment for the echo PAS 280.  Just to have a back up plan for down the road.

I swear it is cursed. Every time the wife wants me to use brush cutter blade to cut the plants at end of season. The stihl finds a reason to embarrass me in front of her. Well not this year I bought the echo brush cutter blade attachment last time this happed. 😉

You have had a time with that trimmer.    I have a couple of Stihl trimmers I got for free from people who did not want to spend the money or just got frustrated with them.   They always seem to work for me.

That echo blade sings like a circular saw blade while using. Has same design.

But got all the stuff cut trouble free at least.  Now to figure out how you would even sharpen that style blade by hand. The stihl one you just use a round file. The echo one maybe a flat file?  No clue here.

The same way as touching up a circular saw blade just a couple of passes on top of the tooth towards the top of the tooth, I have done a couple by just touching the top flat section with an angle grinder
