Al, Thanks for the tip on the crankcase seals. Don't know if I'll try to get this thing running or not. I've got several old saws that I've thought about selling on ebay for parts -- someday ???
Your photo of the Lombards do look a lot like the Remington. The Remington has the oil fill aimed to the back and up [tilt the nose of the saw down to fill], and it doesn't have the small tube from in front of the trigger to the base of the saw. Other than that they could be the same saw.
