Eric Jeepers had shag bark hickory rounds for timed cuts at a gtg once. The saws that were fastest in the softwood cants at the gtg's before hand were also the saws that were fastest with round chisel work chain in the hardwood shag bark hickory.

I often wondered about that. I was very undecided on which chain to use also. I just decided to save my square ground and use round ground.
