I'll try to explain for this area. Midwest. 3 complete cookies down up down, cold start with hands on the wood saw on the ground not running on go and make 3 cuts within 6 inches of wood.
Then there is hotstart saw idling on the ground hands on wood, then same inside 6 inches.
Hotstart over wood saw in hand make 2 cuts or 3 cuts.
There is several different ways as seen by different shows. This year I seen a hotstart over wood on video with 2 down cuts NY, then I seen a show throw out the 6 inch rule for 1 class and the bikesaws took 4 to 6 inch cookies for each cookie
.
Up where Art is NS you can do a up down and up cut if I remember right.
TN has a 2 cut hot start show with laser timer.
Out west I have seen 1 cut on a monster size of a log. hot and cold start.
Hope others will ad to this.
