Chain saw contest classes???
« on: September 17, 2014, 04:30:58 pm »
What are the saw classes for a chainsaw contest? I was asked to help organize a saw contest and I have no idea about it lol and I was told in previous years they had 3 classes.
59.9cc and below  60-69.9cc and 70cc and up. Is this how it should be? In the past they had very few saws over 70cc.  Not sure if it matters but all the cants will be 8x8

Usually there's also a 50cc class and below or what they call a 3 cube class. Typically they let the 52 cc saws run in it.

The ones I've been to there is also or typically a 90cc and above class. I have seen several 120cc saws at some contests.

By far the biggest participation is in the 50cc, 60cc, & 70cc classes in that order.

3ci is 50cc under.  4ci is 65cc under, but some run it at fairs and gtg's at 60cc under.   5ci  81cc under.  6ci 100cc under.   Open 100cc over.

How I used to run mine is 3ci 4ci 5ci 6ci open.  I also had a 40cc under rear handle class and a 40cc under top handle only class.
