I remember that day, shows how inexperienced we were.  Leave going home scratching your head thinking how can I get faster. Saw, chain or operator? In 2009 if you lost them older fella would come up and pat you on you back and say " Glad ya'll came down, hey, by the way, next month were doing one at so and so, why dont ya'll come to it?" Well 2010 changed, making better chains, running saw better, tuning better, learning more about saws. If you win against them you're cheating and you dont get invited to the next race. Funny how that works! Traveled around some last year and met some great people! If you cant have fun racing or enjoy the sport, I can see how the competitive edge can get to a person.                                                                       Joey

stihlbro I would say 98% of the people I came across racing would give you the shirt off their backs. Only came across a few bad apples that acted like they were better then everyone else. That's all it was to was a act  :D :D.

Who's gtg was this in Oz?

Had my fill of the serious stuff. Just doing one or two of the "for fun" events now. Starting a memorial show for our late Husky dealer this year. Giving away an Efco chainsaw. Drawing a name out of a hat for the winner. First or dead last racing you have an equal chance at the saw.

That would be a good time to have a stock saw race with a 152 or 156 and winner wins saw.

Did that last year. A 72 year old won the saw. New 152. I lost all the pics when the computer died, but made a cd for BIN before. Will see if he can find it.

the 066 and 5000 ran great. i could not use my good chains because of the bark on the wood. but nate was kind enough to lend me a semi skip chain to use on my 066 and holy crap did that chain cut :o i had to use oregon cs on the 5000 but still ran good. i cant wait to use some good chain on it. nate ,jason and jack really have some saws that will haul the mail! i'm thinking about getting my 2171 worked over a little too. ;) i made a good chain for the 505 so i was unable to use it. didn't have a work chain for it.

Yep got to carry some good ole work chains to gtg's just in case.  Had that happen at the shag bark hickory cutting gtg. Just broke out stihl RS and RSLK out of the box.
